  • SURVEY: Input needed on trial evalutating safety of therapy that may restore myelin

Received this in my inbox the other day with the following note. Participate if you'd like. I believe it is a therapy being developed by Novartis (educated guess) and this survey is a means of gauging the level of commitment of potential trial participants and gather potential patient info including names. (You don't need to include your name on the survey although they do ask.) And... let's be honest, to create a bit of buzz. Remyelination? That tends to get the attention of MSers. - Dave

I am reaching out to you on behalf of Engage Health, a market research firm that is conducting an online survey of multiple sclerosis patients that will assist in the design of a proposed early-stage clinical trial intended to evaluate the safety of a new therapy that may induce remyelination of the damaged myelin sheath in MS patients.

We greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word about this survey to help advance the clinical development of a potential new therapy.

Your Input is Needed for a Survey Regarding a Clinical Trial for a New Therapy

    WHO
Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) with an Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) score ranging from 3.0 (moderate disability) to 7.5 (restricted to a wheelchair).

    WHAT
Make your voice heard! Take an online survey about an early-stage clinical study designed to evaluate the safety of a new therapy that may help restore the myelin sheath (the insulating cover that protects nerves in the brain and spinal cord) on axons that have been damaged by MS.

    WHY
The information will be used to help determine the optimal design of a proposed Phase 1 trial.

    WHERE
The survey questionnaire can be accessed at https://www.engagehealth.com/survey/...rveyID=m60K657.

    LENGTH
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and all responses will be kept strictly confidential.

    SPREAD THE WORD
We encourage you to complete the questionnaire, and if you know anyone who may be interested, please spread the word!

I took it; thank you Dave! Did not ask for my name but that of my doctor. Asked where I live (city and state), a tiny bit about my MS, and a few questions about how involved in a study I might be.

Harmless and non-intrusive survey. I recommend taking it.
