Would love to do this! Can't wait to start training. Had MS since 1998. My husband and I look forward to this.

I did a bit of research and the earliest we can book a cabin is 6 months prior to the event, meaning January of 2015. But here's the rub. Reservations almost certainly will have to include Thursday, July 2, as six months prior to July 3 (a Friday and a government holiday) falls on a Saturday (Jan 3) when reservations are closed. So as long as someone doesn't reserve the cabins for several days prior and overlap the July 4 weekend (screwing us), we will have to be ready to book Friday January 2, 2015 at 9 am.

More info on cabins and camp-sites

        Cheryle:

Just added you to the email distribution list for this venture...you should have received an email by now to join it.

Echoing Dave's comment....the base camp location of Mueller State Park (which is at 10k feet which will help us all acclimate) which we will stay at beginning Thursday July 2nd permits reservations for the on-site cabins to be made 6 months out. The same applies to camp-sites as well.

Info on the cabins are Mueller (they have a 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom and a 4 bedroom) are here : http://www.parks.state.co.us/parks/m...abinsHome.aspx

If Dave stays in one of these "luxury" cabins, I am thinking that Dave may try and line up a french chef to make his meals

For those wanting a more rustic experience, information on the camp-sites (of which there are a lot) are here:

        http://www.parks.state.co.us/Parks/M...erCamping.aspx

I will figure out nearer the time who plans to go for the camp-site option and then reserve the necessary number (up to 8 per campsite I believe). Will of course reserve any camp-sites near a toilet

The Ponderosa Cabin at Mueller is $260 a night. Holds 8 people so that's only $32.50 a night. Happy to share the queen bed with another lady. Even if I'm living in Denver by this time, count me in on a Mueller cabin!

              Hi ValM68:

Apologies for not being very responsive....

....send me an email at the following email address at msthrivers@gmail.com - will add you to the list of people interested in doing this. Looking forward to having you join that list and even better the actual venture itself.

I also recently started a blog site for this venture - with an initial FAQ. That FAQ includes different options for participating in this venture, only one of which is hiking up the mountain. This FAQ can be located at:
