Default My Mom got good news

Non-MS related Good news:

My Mother In law told me she has a new back doctor and a new heart doctor, that are highly skilled, and work at her local small town hospital.

She's excited at the prospect of feeling better (back surgery is probable) and getting off some of her Rx meds (I think she's on about 12 pills a day).

The Heart doctor even recommended a Magnesium Sulfate cream for her diabetic neuropathy. She takes 1200 mg of Gabapentin at bedtime. She hates it, but it helps. The fact that an MD said she should try a non-pill has her crazy excited.

I'll be trying it myself as soon as Amazon delivers it. We ordered it a few minutes ago.

To hear her voice on the phone today... it was so light, she sounded so happy. I had the biggest smile on my face listening to her gush about these new specialists. She has hope. She hasn't had hope in a long time. Yippee!! =D

My sister Kathryn and her husband Erik just started a run timing business in their new town of Reno, Nevada: Bighorn Racing. They've timed running races for years, and wanted to move away from the East Coast. Excited to have them closer to ABQ!

BTW, I tried to give her a good slogan, but she ignored my recommendation...

Bighorn Racing—It's Big. It's Horny. (Hahahaha, I crack myself up)

Default Birds in the garden, life is good

Getting up after three very crappy days more or less in bed. Today is nice, I have birds in the garden, it has rained a lot in England so all the air smells of woods, trees, fresh things and today I am going to go for a walk and have a big fat pudding too.

Have been riding an ancient stationary exercise bike that I found on the side of the road, free. Happy to say that I can lift my weak right leg up off the ground, multiple times, at the end of the day! So, there's muscle there; now if it would only look muscular! Right leg is so thin.

My house is almost sold! I'll be moving about 30 miles from where I am now, and right across the street from my BFF! Am buying her mother's house. (Mom has moved in with her boyfriend)

Wahoo! This is great news about your legs. =) I have been avoiding my bike like the plague. I think I'll hop on tomorrow morning and see how I do.

How's the house?

Saw a new Ophthalmologist-Neurologist today.
Results: He's happy.

There's no residual effects from the Optic Neuritis (ON) I had in June 2015 and there is no sign of ON with my most recent MRI. No need to change MS meds. Crazy good news today. Wahoo!!

This is great news, G1D. And Sparky, fantastic news on the move!

Still waiting on my MRI results. At first the neuro said there were new and enhancing lesions when comparing my most recent MRI to the most recent one he had on file. But then he realized it was from 2006, 10 years ago--when I was diagnosed! All my other MRIs were done in clinical trials, so they are not in his database.
