I came across a review for a book a few years old written by a neurologist with MS
“Multiple Sclerosis from Both Sides of the Desk" by Vincent F. Macaluso . I go through spurts of wanting to read more about MS and wanting to read about anything but MS. But this looks interesting because he talks about white blood cells (inflammation) in brain and how it puts "pressure" on the brain, causing a host of problems. I hadn't heard it explained this way. He also says the neurologists don't really understand MS fatigue and all the crazy symptoms. I think I might give it read. Anyone read this or have another MS book recommendation?

This looks like an interesting book. Thanks for sharing it. I see it on Amazon and the Kindle version looks to be only $3 or so.

I can relate to going through periods when I'd rather not read anything about MS. But it's nice to hear of others' experiences living with MS and how life moves on for them.

The NIH has a good trove of journal articles in PubMedCentral, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/), which is a service of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/.

There are journal articles here that are archived within the NIH's Library of Medicine. I found one yesterday that reviewed treatment plans and when to start or end treatment with DMDs.

Here's a book I think might also be helpful. The author, George Jelinek, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and also has MS. https://overcomingms.org/about-oms/about-prof-jelinek/

The book describes an approach I took soon after I was officially diagnosed to try to incorporate lifestyle changes that would give me a better outcome with MS.

My neurologist was onboard with the supplements the author mentions (D3 and B12). The additional recommendations the book makes help frame each day with things to do to improve quality of life over time.
