  • Two new reported failures (SPMS and PPMS)

These two patients went outside of clinical trials and to Israel for HSCT treatment. Sadly, both recently failed and they talk about it over at TIMS. This reinforces two things 1) this is not a cure for MS and 2) the odds of this treatment working long term in SPMS and PPMS (especially without active lesions) are not great, although it does happen. I wish them both the best of luck.

This treatment is still potent and could change the face of MS, but research has shown that it is vastly more successful in RRMS than in SPMS and PPMS.
