  • possible spasticity

    Hi all,

A couple weeks ago, I was playing softball and tore my calf. I had stretched out and everything. This is 2 years after I randomly tore my other calf. I signed up for an MS bike ride in September and would really like to do it. Unfortunately, it appears as though I tear muscles randomly. I have some Baclofen but haven't been taking it regularly, which I will start now. Anybody else have this issue and any recommendations as to how to deal with it?

    Thanks

    Possible spasticity

Hi, I don't know if it is different with each person, but I have just had a whole heap of appointments with nurses, specialists etc. and one of the things that I learnt (and I must point out that this is relevant for me so may not be the same for everyone else), is that I have increased spasticity. One of the Doctors said that I must give this the greatest of respect as for me, it is part of the resulting messages not getting through so it is telling me something. It is easy for me to spot as I have accompanying finger twitching. But he did stress, be careful during these times with yourself. It is not the time for me to go cliff walking or meadow finding, it is time just to potter for a few days then go do something exciting when it is less pronounced.

i got painful Achilles tendons this week and i wondered if spasticity was the culprit? (yet Another mystery symptom of unknown cause...)This got me to find a manual on spacticity put out the Canadian MS Society on the internet. There is a specific foot/ heel strech recommended for ankle spasticity. here is link if anyone else would like

        Thanks

Suebee! This was perfect timing for me. I haven't been on here in a while and just thought I should check back in. Last week I developed extremely painful Achilles tendons in both legs. I thought it was over use and the fact that I have torn both of my calves. But I just did the stretch that your link recommends and found it extremely helpful!

        Thank you!
