  • Over 1 hour of walking nonstop (new high!)

Using a pair of forearm crutches, I exercised for over an hour nonstop this past weekend--no sitting, no rest, and no pauses except to say hi to a passerby. And I worked the legs hard: squats, calf raises, toe raises, lunges, side walking, crisscross walking, marching, side leg raises, and more. I was even able to walk short distances unaided on just my toes and just my heels (harder). I wasn't even totally gassed afterward.

Okay, that was pretty cool. Almost as cool as the cold beer I had afterward to celebrate!

I always try to push. Thanks for the encouragement, pawpaw! My previous high was 55 minutes, which totally gassed me. So not a big gain, but enough of one to be noticeable. I'm guessing any improvements these days will only come in baby steps now that I am 1.5 years out. I sure hope the gains stick around and the MS keeps sleeping....
