  • Stretch before running?

A recent study says it does squat to prevent injuries. I've also read that skiers should NOT stretch before a race (muscles react faster). Anyway, here's an article on the running study....

You know, I haven't stretched before running in years...8 marathons later, I haven't been injured yet.

Now, that doesn't mean that I shouldn't stretch more at other times.

I never really considered stretching to be an injury prevention measure, but I do think it’s important to overall joint and muscle health regardless of whether it’s done before, after or during exercise. It also might help relieve some of the muscle pain that can result from exercise, especially for an MSer. Stiff is bad, stretch and keep those muscles and joints moving.
