  • Using an exercise ball as a chair!

My cat isn't real happy because I move too much even when not trying to and he is on my lap, but I love it! This is day 3 I think, and have no plan to put the chair back. (it's the computer chair I'm talking about)

Mostly I move about in a hula-hoop motion, but I can also work my thighs by lifting myself up. I figure any movement is better that parked in a chair!

I'm trying to get rid of the flab around my middle.

Great Idea! Good for the core too. Going to pull my ball out right now!

    Thanks Sparky,

Any particular exercises, other than what I've described, to help with core strength?

There are lots, and not just for core, but for balance, too. While sitting, try lifting each leg. When you get better, hold the lift for longer. Then try extending your leg while it's lifted. My PT sis has bundles of tricks on the ball.

          Hey Sparky,
Here’s a couple of ball exercise youtube videos, for strengthening core. These are tough, I highly recommend extreme moderation.

I had to do this one with my feet against a wall. I also felt my abs for a week afterward but I was eventually able to work up to about 20 reps and I like this better than the sit-up bench at the club.

They work, but they’re hard, for more have a look at this:

That last one I have bookmarked - must've gotten it from you somewhere! Thanks!

Dave, I can lift my left leg fine. But when sitting up straight the right leg won't go. If I hunch over I can lift it but I don't think my Chiropractor would approve.
