  • UK's meet.ms set for April 8

This is a super cool idea, that could easily spread outside the UK. - Dave

    meet.ms – Thursday 8th April
Shift.ms is one year old - the perfect excuse to get together. After the success of the first meet.ms, we’re back with a new date for you to meet face-to-face with other MS'ers near you.

    What's meet.ms you say?
Well, it's a big event for MS'ers with a difference - instead of everyone travelling to one event, meet.ms is coming to you, in your town! By getting as many MS'ers to have a night out together we can start something... maybe a revolution... but definitely a community of young people supporting each other and having fun.

A recipe for a good time:
    1. Go to the map of your area on the Planet.ms page of the shift.ms website. http://shift.ms/planet_map.php?utm_m...=mapofyourarea
    2. Find an MS'er near where you live and click through to their profile page.
    3. Click the 'contact me' button at the top of their profile page to send a quick note
    4. Invite other members to a nice pub/ café/ restaurant on Thursday 8th April - remember everyone has different levels of mobility, so think accessible.
    5. Confirm time and place, swap further contact details.
    6. Two people is all you need for a meet.ms, however now you have a confirmed wing-man if you want to invite other MS’ers, post your meet.ms to the Happenings page.
    7. Go to arranged location at arranged time on Thursday 8th April and enjoy.
    8. Oh, and don't forget to order stickers!

Serving suggestion: For best results allow at least an hour and a half for chit chat - good humour always enhances flavour. Don’t forget it’s a birthday party, so cake and silly hats are advised. Make sure you bring / wear something distinctive you have told people about, so new people can find you at your chosen location, previously mentioned silly birthday hat should do the job nicely!

For more details on meet.ms and to join in the fun, keep an eye on the Happenings page.
Also, sorry if some of you couldn’t get on the site recently, we couldn’t either - we’re not really sure what happened but we are back and hopefully that won’t happen again.

So on the 8th April, altogether now: “Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Shift.ms...”
