    ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UP-DATES
    FOR VETERANS AND PROGRAM SUPPORTERS
    **New local program opportunities**
    Please note that the VA Recreation Hall is currently not open and We are working for approval for restarting Yoga as one of our first classes. If you would like to be added to the list for this program please CALL Cat and let her know. Once dates and programs can resume I will announce programs and registration process for reopening. Thank you for your patience. I will continue to update our community programs as they get started.

    RECREATION PROGRAMS
    Adaptive Adventures Group Leadership and Advanced Cycling Training
    Friday, Oct. 8, 9:30-2pm Tingley Beach or location to be communicated
    Are you a cycling, handcyclist, or triker who wants to lead group rides and learn more about advanced cycle maintenance/repair as well as group set up, ride planning, cycle coaching, and how to get started? If so the Friday, October 8th Tier 2 class is for you. Please sign up with Adaptive Adventures at cycling@adaptiveadventures.org .
    Adaptive Adventures Advanced Ride
    Saturday, Oct. 9 4:30am ready to ride Pueblo Montano Picnic Area
    Riders who can ride at least 15 miles without a break and keep at 10mph average. You can sign up for a sunrise ride Saturday, October 9th. You MUST have your own safety gear, working headlights and taillights, and be comfortable riding before daybreak. Please sign up with Adaptive Adventures at cycling@adaptiveadventures.org by Oct. 7th.

    Move United OnDemand FREE fitness platform
    You now have access to a wide variety adaptive sports fitness classes, taught by some of the country’s best adaptive fitness instructors, making training available to you whenever you want from wherever you are.
    Fun, high-energy classes are designed for those who work out seated or standing, need audio cues or would like recurring instruction. Whether you’re looking for Cardio, HIIT, Strength, Yoga or Dance you’ll find classes for you ranging from 10 to 45 minutes. Earn badges, participate in fitness challenges and connect with a community of adaptive fitness enthusiasts from around the country.
    **And Move United is mailing a free fit kit with adaptive workout equipment to the first 500 individuals with disabilities who complete a class.

    NVGAG Fitness for Life Virtual Challenge
    Aug. 16-Oct. 11
    Join us for the multi-event virtual fitness challenge as we travel from DC to Sioux Falls, SD. Register ASAP for T-shirt. Register here: https://www.myvirtualmission.com/missions/122039/2021-nvgag-virtual-fitness-challenge Allowed activities: Walking (indoor and outdoor), running (indoor and outdoor), cycling (indoor and outdoor), swimming, rowing, elliptical, and wheelchair exercises. Grand prize available include choice of treadmill, row machine, or stationary recumbent bike. You will need a device to track activity, this can be smart phone with activity tracker like MapMyRun/Strava or a smart watch.

    Individuals with all types of disabilities welcome regardless of experience. Must have a permanent disability. Pre-registration required and includes climbing gear. To register visit www.aspnm.org

    Esperanza Bicycle Safety Education Center
    The shop is now open for appointment for bike/trike/handcycle repair. They are also providing pop up clinics throughout the city. For more information visit www.cabq.gov/Esperanza

    Like our past events, we’ll be hosting competitions and games that you can participate in virtually.
