    ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UP-DATES
    FOR VETERANS AND PROGRAM SUPPORTERS
    **New local program opportunities**
    Please note that the VA Recreation Hall is currently not open and we are working for approval for future in person classes. Once dates and programs can resume I will announce programs and registration process for reopening. Thank you for your patience. I will continue to update our community programs as they get started.

    We are starting our Yoga programs but number are limited. If you are interested in attending these programs please contact Cat for more information and times.


    RECREATION PROGRAMS
    National Veterans Golden Age Games NM Rollin’ Chili Peppers Team Informational Meeting
    Tuesday, Nov. 30th 9:30-10:30am Monday, Dec. 6 3-4pm or via WebEx
    If you are interested in learning more about the NVGAG and our NM team please email me with which meeting you would like to attend. I will send you the link (call in number also available for those unable to attend virtually). This meeting will give you an overview of the sports, any rule changes, and how and when to register. This meeting will help us plan and prepare for the July 18-23, 2022 competition in Sioux Falls, SD. Catherine.ivie@va.gov

    All Bikes Ride on the Bosque
    Tuesday, Dec. 14th 10-noon, Tingley Beach
    Space is limited. Esperanza will not be joining us this month. There is a limit of 6 plus 2 back up slots. Please email or call to sign up for this session. First call first serve, but please plan on attending unless it is raining no matter the weather. Dress appropriately and bring your spare tubes, tools and supplies to be self-sufficient.

    Adaptive Sports Program NM
    Adaptive Ski Program
    Ski Santa Fe, Fridays, Jan 21, 28, Feb 4, 11, 25, March 4 (OFF Feb 18)
    Registration Open Now. Come learn to ski, snowboard, ski bike, or adaptive skiing with ASP. You must register online at https://www.adaptivesportsprogram.org/

    Adaptive Climbing Night
    Program will restart Jan. 2022. No class Dec
    4th Friday of the Month 5-8pm, Stone Age Climbing Gym North, 6200 Alameda Blvd

    We’re entering the cold weather months, so please take note that the schedule and routes are subject to change. If it is raining, hailing, temperature less than 40°F or greater than 99°F or wind greater than 20 mph at the event site, we have to cancel the event. The same COVID rules still apply.

    To provide all veterans and their families an opportunity to find health, healing, community purpose, and new challenges through adventure and adaptive paddle sports! TRR programs are open to veterans of all eras and their families, as well as non-service connected individuals either with or without disabilities interested in furthering the mission of TRR.     Beginner Guitar
    Tuesdays, 2:30-4pm ***Forward Flag***
    Volunteer instructors teach this class which is for veterans who are beginners or never picked up a guitar. If you have a guitar, please bring it. If not, the program has some to use during class. Veterans will learn cords, technique, and basic music reading skills. The Programs mission is to provide free instruction in order to use music as a creative constructive outlet for PTSD, TBI, and other disabilities.     The New Mexico Blade Runners have Sled hockey practice at the Outpost Arena and has sleds to borrow for folks who want to try it out.     Rio Rancho Road Runners was formed in October 2016 to promote wheelchair basketball. We have sports chairs available at all of our program events that may be used by participants.
