  • SEPT 22 (Albuquerque): Ticket to Work with SSDI/SSI

Quiz the Ticket to Work Expert

Veronica De Leon-Dowd and Karen Wiley from New Mexico Vocational Rehabilitation will present and answer questions about Ticket to Work.

Ticket to Work is a voluntary program that offers beneficiaries age 18 through 64, and who are receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) based on disability, expanded opportunities to obtain the services and supports that they need to work and to achieve their employment goals.

The goal of the Ticket to Work Program is to assist beneficiaries in obtaining employment and working towards financial independence.

While participating in the Ticket to Work Program, you may be able to use a combination of other “Work Incentives” that can assist you in finding a job that is right for you.

Work Incentives are SSA rules that make it possible for people with disabilities receiving SSDI and SSI to explore work options and still receive benefits until they reach their work goals. Social Security Work Incentives help beneficiaries remove barriers to work by offering support services and providing a safety net to assist beneficiaries in finding meaningful employment and succeeding in the workplace.

Please bring your own brown bag lunch. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions about this program, please contact Vicki Kowal directly at 505-243-2792 x 23 or via email at Vicki.Kowal@nmss.org
