  • Volunteers needed for to test new sleep app for MSers, SleepWell!

Getting a better nights sleep is a good thing. Check out this new study from The University of Buffalo! -D

    --------------

I’m currently a research assistant at The University at Buffalo. We are trying to recruit participants for our research study.

We are currently developing an app called SleepWell! with MS that was developed by nurse scientists who are experts in sleep and mindfulness and an app developer. Our goal was to help adults with MS achieve better sleep and less daytime fatigue.

SleepWell! with MS is an 8-week program using videoconferencing technology (Zoom) that combines lifestyle behaviors with mindfulness practices to improve sleep quality.

Our initial pilot study showed that many participants did have better sleep quality and improved quality of life.

Based on participant feedback, we created an app that contains tips to improve sleep based on current research and recorded meditations to reduce the worry that often keeps people awake during the night.

We were wondering if you were able to pass on this information to your audience who might be interested in partaking in this study (or if you are interested yourself).

If individuals are interested and pass the pre screening process, they will be randomly assigned to either an 8 week Zoom course focusing on mindfulness, meditation, sleep and MS or given access to an app that focuses on these same aspects.

If anyone is interested, they could email us at: mindfulsleepteam@buffalo.edu with any questions and/or for pre screening process.
