I am part of a team of 31 MSers planning to participate in the Detroit marathon on Sunday October 21. Some of are doing this as a 5-person relays. Some doing the 5k. Some doing the half marathon. Some doing the full marathon.
We also have a goal of having one or more people from every continent join us in a virtual capacity - running or walking some distance on every continent at the same time that we are. The Detroit marathon is allowing such people to register for the event and then receive a finishers medal.
We have someone from every continent now represented - except South America.
So if you or someone you know who lives with MS lives in a country in South America and would like to take part, let me know! Distance does not matter - you can do a mile, 5k, 10k, does not matter. Just be willing to do this in solidarity with us at the same time (7am Eastern Standard Time).
