I've been a serious Cubs fan since I was like 10. No, I've never lived in Chicago. My grandfather thankfully (I think) passed down his allegiance to the baseball team. I've had the opportunity to watch the Cubs in spring training (this year) and actually saw the first official night game on my birthday, 8/9/88.
Funny, the Cubs are partly responsible for me meeting my wife. I was watching the first night game in Grant Park when it started to downpour. That game was rained out. But huddled in a tent, I met a woman. Well, young woman. I was 20 at the time. We never saw each other again, but that confidence inspired me to ask out Laura four days later back in Washington, DC.... Go Cubs!
