About this Event
Please join the RMMSC and Dr. Mark Maņago to learn about living an active lifestyle with MS. Dr. Maņago will go over common exercises done with a physical therapist and ways that people can keep that activity going after PT or instead of PT. There are many options to explore such as community classes, monitoring steps and physical activity (and other strategies for those that can’t walk well), and energy conservation and fatigue management. The latter part of the webinar will focus on monitoring and overcoming barriers to staying active (pain, mood, motivation, mobility limitations). You will be able to submit a question for Dr. Maņago when you register and we will reserve a few minutes at the end for a live Q&A.
About the Presenter
Dr. Mark Maņago, PT, DPT, PhD, NCS is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Maņago completed his Master’s, Doctor of Physical Therapy and PhD in Rehabilitation Science all at the University of Colorado. His specialization is neurologic physical therapy. Dr. Maņago is a dedicated researcher, focused on advancing clinical research in the field of rehabilitation in people with multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions by investigating clinically feasible targeted exercise interventions to improve participation. He is currently leading two exercise trials in people with MS: one targeting core strength to improve walking, and the second looking at blood flow restriction training to improve function.
