  • SCT for Non RR?

I have read that this treatment is best for RR MS, but I noticed looking at the participant blogs that at least one participant was Progressive Relapsing. The treatment seems to have worked.
Can I deduce that that this form of SCT may be effective in halting all forms of MS?

    Thanks.

Since this is still so new, researchers honestly don't know how effective it is with any form of MS. For my study, they accepted patients with relapse remitting and relapse progressive. The theory is that an SCT is most beneficial in the relapsing stage of the disease.

Others have had the procedure done in secondary progressive with some success, although I believe primary progressive results have not been as positive in early studies. But studies with SPMS and PPMS have involved higher levels of disability (EDSS scores as high as 8 or 9), which increases the risk.
