Ventured into the foothills of the Sandia Mountains yesterday and hiked a mile up, passing the "wilderness" boundary by nearly a quarter mile. The two miles roundtrip is a new high for me post transplant and it felt great. I was gassed the last couple hundred meters because I broke my rule of resting every 15 minutes. I stretched it (I was sooo close) and ergo those last steps to the car looked like I was assaulting Hillary's Step on Everest, ha. How fast was I? Slooow, it took 2.5 hours, so I was averaging under 1 mph. Race ya!
