Got this Q from a member over the weekend:
Great question, G. The short answer: you can't. Those tips are the best for slippery conditions. But that said, when I encounter unexpected wetness, I take much shorter strides and try to plant the crutch straight down. But when one slips out unexpectedly, it can be real unnerving and challenging to keep your balance.
Other advice, crutch users?
I joined this group while searching for information or advice on how to avoid sliding with my forearm crutches when walking on wet surfaces that can’t be detected easily, such as dripped water on a wood flooring in the lobby of my building. I use Tornadoe crutch tips but they’re not foolproof. Your advice is very much appreciated. - G
