  • Power-Plate

I have been trying out the Power-Plate at the gym for a few years now along with my regular workout. Although last year, I sort of slacked on the training, I am trying to get back into it and had been wondering if the Power-Plate was okay to continue with since I got diagnosed. Apparently it is, so I am going to continue to incorporate it into my workout. I normally do the rowing machine, run on the treadmill, ellipitcal machine and then the Power-Plate at the end of my workout every other day. Here is an article about the benefits of the Power-Plate:

    Hey Stella,

Thanks for flagging this and for adding the link. I am not familair with the Power Plate and wonder if I can find something like that in Kosovo or close by. I am sure my tired legs and core muscles would benefit greatly if I had access to one. I am resting now and tapering off my training this week in preparation for a half marathon this Sunday in Skopje. Hope your training and running continues to go well. best, John

      Hi John,

good to hear from you! I get access to the Power Plate at my gym. But I am sure they even have them at some hospitals as well. Try googling in your area to see if you can find one. They are well worth it and really stimulate your circulation. I wish you lots of luck with your half marathon. Please be sure to let us know how you got on!

      All the best,

      Stella

A fellow ActiveMSer just sent me this review....

Thanks to MS and a particularly bad relapse, I became a specialised personal trainer. I went back to school and got an AA in Adaptive Fitness Therapy to help me but it has spiralled into more work than this body can handle. I have finally landed at a training facility that has huge space and more importantly, a Power Plate (www.evolutiontrainers.com) (www.powerplate.com/us).

I discovered this awesome machine when I was visiting with my sister last year in London. There has been some research on its effects with MS patients. My clients who have MS love it because they can get their atrophying muscles to work with limited mobility.
