My wife and I were touring atop a steep gorge in Provence when we stopped a scenic view point. I'm thinking, Hey, this is a good spot for a photo. So I leaned my forearm crutches against the railing to get my camera, when one crutch slid off and started to fall through the railing bars. Oh sh*t.
Thankfully, I still have a bit of hand-eye coordination. As the crutch tipped into the gorge like a seesaw, I lunged at the end and just managed to grab it. From then on, the crutches went on the ground for any potentially risky photo op!
