  • Snowboarding...

Anyone else learned after they had balance issues/MS? My daughter wants to learn and my brother's girlfriend wants to teach us.

Thought it sounded fun and challenging!

Go for it, Joy! Just know that the first day will involve pain, as will days 2 and 3. Wear wrist guards, knee pads, a butt pad (seriously, padding there will help), and a helmet. I recommend that for any snowboarder, especially for one with MS. Also dress in lots of layers so you can shed clothing so you don't overheat.

You also might consider going adaptive if your balance is seriously sketchy. Either way, it's great to have fun on the snow.

I will totally have to look into adaptive snowboarding! My balance is off lately. Thank you for all of the advice.

I don't remember to come into this message board a lot, but when I do, there is so much helpful advice! Thanks.
