My Mother In law told me she has a new back doctor and a new heart doctor, that are highly skilled, and work at her local small town hospital.
She's excited at the prospect of feeling better (back surgery is probable) and getting off some of her Rx meds (I think she's on about 12 pills a day).
The Heart doctor even recommended a Magnesium Sulfate cream for her diabetic neuropathy. She takes 1200 mg of Gabapentin at bedtime. She hates it, but it helps. The fact that an MD said she should try a non-pill has her crazy excited.
I'll be trying it myself as soon as Amazon delivers it. We ordered it a few minutes ago.
To hear her voice on the phone today... it was so light, she sounded so happy. I had the biggest smile on my face listening to her gush about these new specialists. She has hope. She hasn't had hope in a long time. Yippee!! =D
My sister Kathryn and her husband Erik just started a run timing business in their new town of Reno, Nevada: Bighorn Racing. They've timed running races for years, and wanted to move away from the East Coast. Excited to have them closer to ABQ!
Getting up after three very crappy days more or less in bed. Today is nice, I have birds in the garden, it has rained a lot in England so all the air smells of woods, trees, fresh things and today I am going to go for a walk and have a big fat pudding too.
Have been riding an ancient stationary exercise bike that I found on the side of the road, free. Happy to say that I can lift my weak right leg up off the ground, multiple times, at the end of the day! So, there's muscle there; now if it would only look muscular! Right leg is so thin.
My house is almost sold! I'll be moving about 30 miles from where I am now, and right across the street from my BFF! Am buying her mother's house. (Mom has moved in with her boyfriend)

Wahoo! This is great news about your legs. =) I have been avoiding my bike like the plague. I think I'll hop on tomorrow morning and see how I do.
Saw a new Ophthalmologist-Neurologist today.
Results: He's happy.
There's no residual effects from the Optic Neuritis (ON) I had in June 2015 and there is no sign of ON with my most recent MRI. No need to change MS meds. Crazy good news today. Wahoo!!
This is great news, G1D. And Sparky, fantastic news on the move!
Still waiting on my MRI results. At first the neuro said there were new and enhancing lesions when comparing my most recent MRI to the most recent one he had on file. But then he realized it was from 2006, 10 years ago--when I was diagnosed! All my other MRIs were done in clinical trials, so they are not in his database.

How is it there? Hopefully still beautiful and full of song.
Yes thanks, so beautiful although raining today. I have had a very good run for a while with the help of a my Doctor and specialist nurse and my refusal to sit still in the summer. But I am in the middle of three days so far lying on the sofa feeling quite ill. I have books and Netflix and other things to keep me entertained.
My really good news in amongst this feeling grotty, is that as I was lying on the sofa yesterday looking out of my patio doors the resident blackbirds' babies fledged the nest for the first time and were all about three feet away from me eating nuts and banana that I had thrown out. They were very screetchy and unsure of what to do. There are three in total, I have seen them this morning. And, if I hadn't been laid up, I would have missed this. So good news. I also bought a teenager's bycicle from a community charity for young people and now and then I go round the block a few times. I know it looks a bit funny but due to spinal bits and bobs I cannot get on a fully sized one. I have enjoyed it. I am only out for 5 minutes but with the sun our and breeze blowing it is worth it. How are you?
Things are good here. The weather has changed ever so slightly for the cooler. The rains last night actually stayed for a while longer than normal. Felt great during the storm to be outside under the patio cover watching to rain in the distance fall and be startled by the bright lightning in the near distance. It's a cool morning, that I know won't last long, but while it does I have the patio door open and I'm enjoying the slight breeze. Dog is happy, romping around in the yard and through the house. Yep, all good here.
That is lovely. I am suffering at the moment because I went on a jaunt to the seaside at Llandudno, in North Wales in the UK. It was over 80 degrees, beautiful short drive, I paddled in the sea, went up the mountain train to the slate mines, dressed for dinner in the hotel, read an Agatha Christie by the outside pool. This is amazing in itself as our weather is unpredictable. Anyway, the second night I woke up with a massive thunder headache at 3 a.m. and went outside with the front of house Manager. We stood in the rain watching the lightning and listening to the thunder as the rain was torrential down the roads, all overlooked by the edge of Snowdonia mountain range. I think we were the only two people out in the rain that night, a lovely memory. So then came home, been in bed mostly since ha ha. But very good news and something I will never forget.
Our local MS Bike is happening later this month, I am going to be doing a live radio spot to promote MS awareness and the Bike this Wednesday morning. I am behind in bike training, wish me luck with the interview and tour!
