Caregiving advice

WebMD asked Laura for her take on being a caregiver for someone with multiple sclerosis. So she brought up "the incident." Yeah, that one. How staples in my head lead to her taking on full duties of her least favorite chore ever. She is such the sweetie.

My bride and I do much the same as you. If I, the one with M.S. can't do a task, my wife does it. On my good days, I pitch in more, on my bad days, she does.

Respite care is important for the primary caregiver of course, but in our case, my wife and I are both caregivers to our 32 year old, severely autistic son who is perpetually 2 both mentally and emotionally.

Once a month date nights, where we can get out as a couple recharges us both.

Open communication is important when the caregiver is a spouse. Our faith of course helps a bunch too!
