Harry Potter, MS, and $15.4 million

J.K. Rowling, the author of the fabled Harry Potter books, just donated $15.4 million to set up a new clinic to research multiple sclerosis. Ms. Rowling's mother died at 45 due to complications from the disease. The clinic will be located in Edinburgh, Scotland. Scotland, incidentally, has one of the highest rates of MS in the world.
