A just-released study in JAMA Neurology concluded “there was no association found between DMTs exposure and COVID-19 severity” and “the presence of DMT was associated with a lower risk of hospitalization.” YAAASSS! Unfortunately, for those MSers not taking disease modifying drugs (perhaps because they are older or have a progressive form), they seem to be at a higher risk of severe COVID-19 if they contract the illness (46.0% versus 15.5% in the DMT group). And in general, MSers who are older, more disabled, and overweight up the risk factor.
