    DMD, Diet, Exercise

I was diagnosed in 1999. I spent about 6 months in denial/research phase before I woke up and decided to do everything I could to preserve the function I still had.
I am now on my third DMD- they all have side effects- but these side effects aren't deal breakers. For me, the deal breaker is progressive disability and cognitive decline.
That is happening to us all, but MS certainly speeds up the process. I want to slow that process as much as possible.
So, I take my DMD, exercise, follow an anti-inflammatory diet (not as strict as Swank).
None of these activities replaces another. Most of us believe that all of these are pieces of the MS treatment puzzle. The problem with guessing wrong with this game is that the damage is not reversible.
