A man has been charged with a felony for allegedly masquerading as a doctor and telling a Belmont woman to eat watermelon in a hot tub to help her kidneys, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
Yevgeniy Valentine Vasin, 54, also treated the woman's mother, Ronelle Kotter. She died of multiple sclerosis after he insisted that she actually had Lyme disease, said San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
Vasin charged Kotter $300 an hour to see her at his office and at her Belmont home...
