Had the good fortune of meeting Lois Lambert via email recently.
Lois lives in eastern MT, is in her early 60s and has had MS since she was 38. She recently wrote and published a book called "In My Dreams I Can Walk".
As my family will tell you, it is rare that I finish books quickly if at all - in the case of this book, was finished very quickly. Just a very personal story that hit on so many dimensions - a family coming together, husband being 100% behind her all the way, a community of 500 people supporting her with not one but two bake sales to raise funds for a treatment they all knew might not work, being asked to deliver a commencement address at the local high school, driving hundreds of miles to see a neurologist and other medical specialists, staying positive, adapting to the life of MS with such grace.
She also made a point of exercising 30 minutes every day - despite being very badly disabled four years into her journey with MS. How many of us can say that?
