Altitude and MS??

I am planning an epic adventure and I am hiking Tour Du Mont Blanc. I have wondered about the altitude and does it have an effect on people with MS? The hike does not take me above 9,000 feet but there are a lot of ascents/descents on the trail. I live in Indiana so no mountains to test out. Just wondering if those of you who have traveled to places with altitude have issues? Any suggestions to help with the altitude? Thanks!

Cindy, I've done a fair bit of cycling at altitude and I can't say it's affected me any more than anyone else just because of the MS. Drink plenty of water, the body needs more at altitude. Sounds like a great trip, have fun and let us know how it went if you can.
