What specific exercises can be used to combat foot drop and muscle atrophy in the lower leg? My exercise has been pretty consistent but the ability has continued to decrease. Not giving up to this stuff (to be polite). Thanks.

Unfortunately, that's the nature of the beast, michraf. There's no easy way to prevent atrophy, just slow it down as much as we can.
As for foot drop exercises, google that and you'll find a bunch. Video too.
