  • Recommended Lyme disease books (Chapt 20)

To get a better understanding of Lyme disease, I turned to recommended books to get a better understanding of the disease. Along with Mr. Douthat’s The Deep Places I purchased Conquering Lyme Disease: Science Bridges the Great Divide by Brian A. Fallon, MD and Jennifer Sotsky, MD and the award-winning book Cure Unknown: Inside the Lyme Epidemic by Pamela Weintraub. All were extremely helpful, with Fallon’s being the most insightful into neurological Lyme.

    Great list, Dave.

Off topic question for you ever get a fever? I know, strange question. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Dr. Bill Rawls (www. Anyway, he had/has Lyme. He once said that because Lyme suppresses the immune system those with chronic/late Lyme disease often don't get fevers. This came back to me quite recently. I am coming off of day 5 of COVID. Surprisingly, I faired quite well while my extremely healthy husband suffered greatly. He had fever, chills, etc. I felt like I was suffering from a mild cold. No fever. None. I never get fevers.

Just, yet another, thought to get your mind working....
