I never thought I’d be excited about a doctors appointment. Tomorrow I see the neuro-ophthalmologist for the first time. Why am I excited? Because it’s taken NINE months to see any one. Some history:
CIS of ON in 2013. It resolved and luckily had nothing major. I was asymptomatic until this past spring (2020) I started getting tremors. I presented to my MD office in July. He ordered an MRI. I waited until the end of OCTOBER to get that MRI. It came back with many lesions. The report confirmed MS. My MD referred me to a neurologist and an neuro-ophthalmologist. The neuro appointment was originally scheduled for April 19th. The neuro cancelled on me and reset the appointment to May 31st (about TEN month from my initial presentation at my MDs office). So, tomorrow is the first time I’ll see anyone of any expertise. One should not have to wait nine months to see a specialist. Welcome to Universal Health (sick) care. I live in Ontario, Canada.
